BRIEF BIO
I have spent most of my life in the Atlanta area. I grew up in Marietta, and after high school I attended the University of Georgia. I obtained a B.A. in History and Philosophy from UGA. After completing my undergraduate degree, I received an M.A.T from Emory in Secondary Social Studies and an M.A. in Philosophy from Georgia State University. While in graduate school, I had my first dose of teaching. I worked for a company teaching reading and study skills to students of all ages. I also taught an introductory college philosophy class titled "Critical Thinking" for Georgia State. After both of those experiences teaching, I felt compelled to pursue a career in education. I student taught in both Junior High and High School classrooms in Dekalb County.
In 2005, I married my wife Natalie and moved to Macon, Georgia. I worked for two years teaching history courses at Central High School. After my wife completed law school, we both returned to Atlanta. I am now in my ninth year of teaching at Paideia, and I could not be happier. The faculty, students, and Paideia community are constantly teaching me new ideas.
